Where are we located?
Age groups & learning spaces
Heathmont BMEL caters for children aged 1 to 6 years across two Montessori programs, each supported by a carefully prepared learning environment.
-
The Infant–Toddler Program (1–3 years) is delivered in the Rainbow Room, a warm and welcoming space that supports secure relationships, early independence, movement, and language development.
-
The Cycle 1 Program (3–6 years) takes place in the Mural Room, a spacious classroom enriched by heritage artwork. This environment supports hands-on Montessori learning, encouraging concentration, curiosity, creativity, and independent exploration.
A campus rich in history and community
The Heathmont campus is home to an original mural painted in 1952 by George Browning, a renowned Australian war artist. Preserved within the Mural Room, the mural forms part of the learning environment and supports children’s understanding of place, history, and community.
This connection to local heritage adds depth and meaning to children’s learning experiences and reflects the centre’s long-standing role within the Heathmont community.
Beyond the classroom
Children at Heathmont benefit from a range of specialist programs, incursions, and excursions throughout the year. These experiences are thoughtfully scheduled to ensure all children have opportunities to participate, extending learning beyond the classroom and supporting social, physical, and creative development.
Part of the BMEL community
Heathmont Bilingual Montessori Early Learning is part of the wider BMEL community, established in 2017 and recognised for delivering high-quality Montessori education within a long day care model. While each campus has its own identity, all BMEL centres share a commitment to authentic Montessori practice, child-centred learning, and strong partnerships with families.
